Join Us for Our 172nd Season!
Wave the flag and strike up the band because the DeKalb Municipal Band is proud to launch our 172nd consecutive summer concert series starting June 9th!
This season, we're celebrating the spirit of America and the joy of live music under the summer sky. Each Tuesday night in the park brings something to cheer about. From the star-spangled sounds of Opening Night to a cinematic Night at the Movies, enjoy the red, white, and rhythm all summer long!
So spread out your lawn chair, soak in the summer air, and let the music move you. Your Tuesday night tradition is back, and it's never sounded more like home!

WHO WE ARE
Our story begins in 1854 when a group of musicians returned to DeKalb from the California Gold Rush after an unsuccessful attempt to strike it rich. They were organized as the DeKalb Silver Cornet Band and the music began its long journey to present day.
For 171 consecutive seasons the DeKalb Municipal Band has played on. It has become known as the longest continuous playing band in Illinois.
The band has survived several wars and conflicts, lack of funding and economic depressions, but throughout it all, not a lack of support from the community. Through good times and bad, the band plays on.
The band now presents an annual summer concert series conducted by Kirk Lundbeck. We also feature a number of soloists throughout the summer.
